Cal Sensors has launched an LMA (linear multiplexed array) range of lead salt infrared detectors that provide sensitivity in the wavelength region from 1 to 5.5µm. Available in both PbS and PbSe materials, the 256-element LMA offers real-time measurement compensation for environmental changes. The measurement is adjusted based on a comparison of the six compensation elements and three active elements on each side of the array. The LMA design decreases the effects of system noise and optimises the measurement solution.
The unit's inbuilt shielding isolates the LMA from environmental variables that could reduce measurement accuracy. The LMA features inbuilt compensation elements and a refined optional cooler controller that further optimises measurement stability by providing the means to fine-tune the temperature set point through the included software. This allows the array to be set at the optimal operating temperature for a particular target application. The cooler can also be integrated with a USB electronics drive board. The LMA is suitable for applications such as gas analysis, spectroscopy, process and quality control, and hot-spot detection.
