Mascot has introduced a charger that is suitable for Li-ion batteries. The 2840LI charger features three-stage charging and includes 13 variants for charging batteries from 1 to 14 cells. The charger is suitable for equipment such as patient lifters, LED lighting systems, and electric bicycles. It meets the EN 60601 and EN 61000 standards and is suitable for medical, military, and consumer applications. The charger, having dimensions of 135x80x44mm, has an input voltage range from 198 to 264V AC.
The three-stage charging capability restores 4.2V battery voltage and applies the saturation charge, which is required to fill the battery. This technique ensures a long battery run-time. The charger also features a single three-colour LED charge-status indicator, as well as a built-in mini automotive fuse for protection against reverse battery connection. It also charges batteries that have other kinds of lithium chemistries.
