Harting has introduced a range of small computer system interface cable assemblies that are suitable for use in high vibration environments. The cable assemblies are available in 14, 26, and 36-pole versions. They are also available in lengths ranging from 0.5 to 5m. The assemblies are provided in American wire gauge 28 shielded cable.
They achieve contact termination by utilising IDC technology. This ensures gas-tight connection to the wire. Secure strain relief is realised through overmoulding, which provide robust assemblies for use in IP 20 environments such as cabinets and control rooms. Integral screw locks facilitate in fixing the cable assemblies to the mating connector. It also provides protection against unintended disconnection. According to the company, the cables do not require additional assemblies, thereby reducing the overall field installation time.
