The GPS (global positioning system) antenna from Pulse Electronics features global 3G functionality and assists in vehicle and asset tracking and location, navigation, emergency call systems, fleet tracking, insurance tracking, and pay-as-you-go transport systems. The W4150GG5000 antenna incorporates general packet radio service, GSM, universal mobile telecommunication system, and wideband code division multiple access standards. The antenna can be installed with either side facing up so that only one antenna is required for mounting on the windshield or dashboard. It receives location information from a GPS satellite and uses the mobile network to transfer the location information to a central control center.
The GPS and 3G antenna is available in an elliptical package of 100x50mm with a height of 8mm. Designed for in-vehicle adhesive mounting, the antenna combines a GPS ceramic chip antenna, a low noise amplifier, and 3G antenna functions. The antenna is suitable for global operation and provides coverage at frequencies from 824 to 960 and 1710 to 2170MHz with a gain of 2 and 4dBi and a radiated efficiency of up to 70%. The GPS operates at a frequency of 1575.42MHz with a maximum gain of 26dBi. The antennas are packaged with double-sided tape for convenient installation.
