In order to support 10GBase-T performance parameters as per IEEE 802.3an-2006 specifications, Bel Stewart Connector has added integrated magnetic capabilities to its ARJ45 series of high-speed Category 7a modular jacks. The modular jacks provide a suitable connector solution for IEEE twisted pair Ethernet standards as the high frequency requirement of the standards exceeds the limitations of RJ45 connectors. The mechanical interface of the connectors meets the International Electrotechnical Commission 61076-3-110 standard and the overall construction integrates with the magnetics required for twisted pair Ethernet data transmission. The connectors' interface also provides the familiarity of an RJ45-style device in its use and port density. The connectors include passive 90° PCB mounted jacks along with plugs and cable assemblies. These offer integrated strain relief boots and anti-snag features for plug tab protection. All connectors are provided with gold-plated contacts to ensure high-cycle life and are manufactured using UL94-VO plastics. They operate between -40 and +85°C and have a durability of 750 matching cycles. The voltage range is 150V AC, and current rating is 1.5A at 25°C.
