Kontron has released the 2.5inch Pico-ITX KTLX800/pITX SBC that features the AMD Geode LX800 processor for use in industrial automation and test and measurement. The SBC consumes an average power of 5 to 7W, making it a suitable solution for extra-small industrial applications. It offers a variety of interfaces, such as VGA (video graphics array), plus low-voltage differential signaling with JILI30, two serial interfaces, fast Ethernet, SATA (serial advanced technology attachment), four USB 2.0 and 16 GPIO (general purpose input/output). The company claims that the SBC enables efficient development of cost-optimised small form factor embedded designs. The company's range of software with a variety of board support packages and Kontron embedded application programming interface reduces development investments. The SBC is available with 1Gbyte DDR RAM system memory as supported by the AMD processor which uses an average power of 0.9W. The interfaces range from a single 10 and 100Mbit Ethernet and four USB 2.0 through two serial RS232 serial connectors to 16 configurable GPIOs for implementing application-specific I/Os. Connectivity for monitors and panels of every kind is enabled in a VGA. Data storage media can be connected through the SATA II port.
