The TurboCap capacitor series from AVX uses a base metal electrode-multilayer ceramic capacitor. The ROHS-compliant capacitors provide high constant velocity values, low electron spin resonance values, and high current-carrying capacity. The capacitors are also resistant to mechanical stresses that occur during board flexing, vibration or temperature cycling. They are available in a X7R dielectric package and are suitable for DC/DC converters, hybrid vehicles, military and commercially off-the-shelf including power supplies, medical electronics equipment, industrial equipment, telecomms and alternate energy applications. The capacitors are assembled using the company's lead frame technology, which places the ceramic up off the board and reduces cracking issues.
