Hammond Electronics' two ranges of desktop chassis are suitable for high-end, hi-fi equipment where appearance is as important as function and for retro-styled instrumentation. The desktop chassis consists of a walnut frame fitted with an aluminium top and optional base panels. The base panels are available with either a black powder coat or a natural finish. The 1444CWW and the 1441CWW ranges are fabricated from aluminium and steel, respectively. The aluminium version has a natural finish, whereas the steel version has a black powder coat finish. The chassis corners are of dove-tailed construction, and are reinforced with corner posts, which are fitted with brass inserts. The 2mm thick top panel supports heavy components such as transformers without bowing. The desktop chassis come in six sizes ranging from 178x127x51 to 432x254x102mm. The chassis is also spot welded for strength and rigidity.
