Datakey Electronics' RUGGEDrive series of portable memory solutions offers data storage and transfer capabilities of USB flash drives and SD cards in a secure package. The memory solutions are constructed using a solid over-moulding process. A rugged, composite plastic protects internal components and allows use in adverse environments. Use of USB 2.0, secure digital high capacity and serial peripheral interface protocols allow the memory tokens to be integrated with embedded controllers, SBCs and industrial PCs.
The memory tokens interface with the company's mating receptacle that helps in overcoming the drawbacks of USB flash drive and SD card connectors. The physical connection between the receptacle and token ensures that data on tokens cannot be readily transferred to unauthorized PCs. The receptacles help protect embedded devices from viruses and other malicious files. They are rated for 50,000 cycles and can withstand use in adverse environments.
The memory tokens feature two families of memory devices. The UFX memory token provides USB flash drive functionality, and the DFX memory token provides SD card functionality. Both the tokens are available with 4Gbyte memory. The receptacles feature multiple mounting options, including through-hole, surface-mount and panel-mount versions. Panel-mount receptacles are available in IP65, IP67 and EMI reduction versions.
