Mentor has released three surface mount device pushbuttons that can be integrated with the company's 2271 series illuminated pushbutton caps. The 1254 series push buttons measure 6x6mm and have a height of 7.3mm. They feature an actuation force of 1.6, 2.6, 3.2 and 5.2N and offer different tactile sensitivities for different applications. The pushbuttons operate from -25 to +70°C. For assembling individual short stroke buttons, especially below control foils, the pushbuttons can be combined with pushbutton caps. The caps fit on the pushbuttons which can be arranged in any form on the circuit card. For use with automatic equipment, the pushbuttons are supplied on spools in quantities of 700. The pushbuttons are lead-free solderable to comply to RoHS specifications.
