AAEON has introduced a Qseven CPU module with an onboard Intel Atom N450 processor to address market requirements for a low-power modular platform. The company claims that the AQ7-LN CPU module delivers high-speed serial interfaces in a cost-efficient form factor. The CPU module includes 1Gbyte of DDR2 memory with an option for up to 4Gbyte of onboard solid-state drive for the operating system. It features an 18bit, single channel, low-voltage differential signaling interface for connecting LCD display panels. I/O demands are met by the eight USB 2.0 ports, two serial advanced technology attachment 3.0Gbyte/s ports, four PCI Express [x1], as well as a linear predictive coding bus interface for additional I/O on the carrier board. The CPU module is suitable for battery-operated applications up to a 12W limitation.
