Claimed to be the market's smallest three-channel reflective encoders, the new AEDR-850x feature built-in interpolation for high-resolution measurement that is suitable for applications as varied as closed-loop stepper motors, miniature motors, printers, copiers, card readers, insulin pumps and other types of industrial, consumer and medical equipment. A standard reflective encoder module contains two digital output channels for direction sensing, with another module required for indexing. These reflective encoders integrate an LED light source, photo-detecting and interpolator circuitry. The three channels are in a single 3.95x3.4mm package. With high resolution encoding of 12 lines/mm, the modules are suitable for where size and space are primary concerns. Operating temperature range is -20 to 85°C.
