A single module from Fastrax, the IT600, integrates GPS, Glonass, QZSS and SBAS. In addition to currently supported GNSS (global navigation satellite systems), it is designed to support positioning systems such as European-based Galileo and Chinese Compass/Beidou2. The receiver module is designed for automotive use, doubling the number of visible satellites compared with GPS only, reducing the time to fix, and increasing positioning, accuracy. Advanced dead reckoning estimates the vehicle's position when satellite signals are unavailable, i.e. in tunnels and parking garages. The module uses an analogue gyroscope and odometer pulse and can later be complemented with a digital three-axis gyroscope and differential wheel pulse from a vehicle's CAN interface to compensate for unavailable GNSS signals. The 32 dedicated tracking channels are dynamically assigned to acquire and track a mix of signals.
