Claimed to be the industry's first green, RoHS-compliant (without any exemptions) thick film rectangular chip resistor, the RCG e3 is from Vishay Intertechnology. Offering a lead (Pb)-free resistor body with pure tin solder contacts and a metal glaze on a high-quality ceramic, the resistor is AEC-Q200 qualified and provides stability of 1% for 1,000 hours at +70°C in three case sizes. Currently, Exemption 5 in the RoHS compliance procedure allows for lead in the resistor body. The resistor meets the demand for Pb-free thick film resistors in consumer, computer, automotive, industrial, and telecomms equipment. Available in the 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes, the chip offers TCR of ±100ppm/K and ±200ppm/K, a resistance range from 1Ω to 10MΩ and 0Ω jumper, and resistance tolerance of ± and ± 5%.
