Two 24V DC output DIN rail mounting AC/DC power supplies that operate from three-phase inputs have been introduced by Emerson Network Power. The ADN-C series power supplies are suitable for industrial applications such as machine control, semiconductor fabrication, conveyor and material handling systems.
The power supplies have an input range from 320 to 540V AC. They can also operate from a DC input between 450 and 760V DC. The company claims that the power supplies employ active power factor correction techniques to maximise efficiency and reduce running costs. The resistors can also accommodate phase loss.
The output of the power supplies is regulated to within ±2% for all line, load and temperature conditions, and ripple is held to less than 100mVpp. The ADN20-24-3PM-C power supply is rated at 480W whereas the ADN40-24-3PM-C is rated at 960W. The ADN40-24-3PM-C power supply also uses active current balancing to ensure load equality.
The power supplies are housed in rugged IP20-rated metal cases. They have a MTBF of 450,000hours. A metal clip present in the power supplies allow secure snap-on DIN rail mounting without tools. All electrical connections are made through accessible front panel screw terminals. The ADN20-24-3PM-C model has a width of 3.3inch, whereas the ADN40-24-3PM-C model has a width of 7inch.
The power supplies operate from -25 to 60ºC without derating, and are suitable for fanless convection cooling. They are protected against over-voltage, and continuous short-circuit conditions, and have a power-back immunity of more than 35V. Front panel LED diagnostic indicators monitor eight separate input, output and alarm conditions.
The power supplies meet the semi F47 sag immunity standard for semiconductor fabrication equipment. They also comply with the EN 60950 low voltage directive and the restriction of hazardous substances. The power supplies are approved for use in Class 1, Div 2 hazardous locations.
