Vishay Precision Group announced that the Vishay Foil Resistors division has released a series of ultra-high-precision Z1-foil wrap-around chip resistors with load-life stability of ±0.0025% at 70°C. The FRSM series resistors have a TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) of ±0.05ppm/°C from 0 to 60°C and ±0.2 ppm/°C from -55 to +125°C. The company claims that the resistors reduce costs in circuits by eliminating the need for corrective circuitry.
The resistors are noise-free and provide electrostatic discharge protection. The units' solid element alloy is matched to the substrate, and forms a single entity with balanced resistance versus temperature characteristics for a low TCR in the temperature range from -55 to +175°C. The adhesive that holds the foil to the flat substrate withstands high temperatures, pulsing power, moisture incursions, shock and vibration, and low-temperature exposure.
