Aaeon has introduced a fanless embedded controller which is based on an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a PCI-Express expansion card. The AEC-6924 controller supports the IntelGS45 + ICH9M chipset and also features two 204pin, DDR3, small outline, dual in-line memory modules. The controller's memory capacity is 4Gbyte. For storage, the controller has a serial advanced technology attachment 3.0Gbit/s hard disk drive and also features a Type 2 CompactFlash slot. The controller is also equipped with a PCI-Express and a PCI slot providing expansion options. It also offers two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB ports, four COM ports, and one line-out connector. According to the company, the fanless design of the controller reduces both cost and mechanical failures and also prevents the system from being disrupted while in operation. The controller's storage temperature range is from -20 to +70°C.
