The TransBrite family of light pipe technology for LEDs from Lumex is developed in both standard and custom formats with ray trace software to ensure good design for light transmittance. The Halo Ring light pipe adds visible dual-colour indicator lights on switches with good efficiency and performance. According to the company, the light pipe is not mounted on a PCB but onto a panel to generate real-estate savings on the PCB and on the technology cabinet. The light pipe's design provides dual-colour performance from a single light pipe without colour mixing. The unique dual-ring, together with the gasket design of the light pipe provides a protective rubber layer in front of the indicator light, and makes the technology splash- and water-proof. It has a 120° viewing angle and operates from -40 to 100°C to ensure high visibility in adverse conditions. The light pipe is suitable for portable and extreme environment applications such as medical device technology, industrial control applications, security and life safety applications, and communications equipment. The light pipe family consists of over 70 light pipe technologies in single or array, moulded or flexible, single or multi-colour formats with right angle, vertical or horizontal packaging for either panel or PCB mounting.
