Emerson Network Power has introduced a series of 3W wall-mount AC/DC power adapters that meet the international efficiency Level V standard. The DCH3 series power adapters also comply with the Tier 2 Energy-related products requirements of Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC. The power adapters have an input from 100 to 254V AC and generate a regulated 5V DC output. They are suitable for recharging low-power, portable consumer electronic devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras.
The power adapters consist of six models. Three of them are fitted with mini-USB 2.0 output connectors, and three are fitted with micro-USB 2.0 connectors. All the adapters are available with three different AC input plugs. They generate a constant voltage, constant current output and have a low safety ground leakage current of 10µA. The power adapters incorporate protection against fault conditions such as latching over-voltage, output short-circuit with auto recover, and overload limitation to less than 0.8A. They can operate from 0 to 45°C.
They have an inbuilt Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques 22 Class B EMI filter and meet the EN55022 Class B, Federal Communications Commission Class B and EMC89/336/EEC standards for EMI. The adapters also meet the EN55082-1 standard for electromagnetic susceptibility. They carry a set of international safety approvals, including cUL/CSA/TUV/NEMKO 60950, CE Mark, and CB certification.
