Following the introduction of high efficiency, metal case LED power supplies, Mean Well has introduced the 80W lower wattage HLG-80H series for middle to low wattage applications. Featuring a wide input range of 90 to 305V AC, the supplies are suitable for general 115 or 230V AC main input, although they can also can be operated under 277V AC input in North America. There are three options with different mechanisms and I/O design. Type A is fully potted by heat-dissipating glue, so it can reach IP 65 waterproof and dustproof level. Users can adjust DC output voltage range from 90 to 110% and current range from 60 to 100% by removing the rubber stopper on the cover. Type B has three in one dimming function. Through additional signal output cable, it offers system designers great flexibility for dimming operation and energy saving design. The third, blank version has basic features without voltage and current adjustment function. With built-in active PFC function, the supplies comply with harmonic current limitation EN61000-3-2 Class C (over 60% load). They also fulfill PF less than 0.9 if loading over 60% and possess 4KV surge immunity (EN61000-4-5) ability which complies with the requirements of street lighting. The topology delivers up to 91% efficiency, so it can be cooled by free air convection from -40 to +70° ambient temperature.
