C&K Components has developed a comprehensive range of smart card connectors that provide PCI and PCI-ready security features. The PCI-ready connectors feature a special design to ease the integration of security devices around and below the connector. The smart card connectors are suitable for use in transaction, and point-of-sale applications. The CCM01 and CCM02 connector series have a sealed, normally-open card detection switch and a card guide with a chamfered opening in the card entry slot to improve the card guidance.
The maximum card insertion force of the connectors is 40N and contact force ranges from 0.20 to 0.5N. The minimum mechanical life for the CCM01 connector series is 500,000 cycles. The CCM02 series connector also has an anti-piracy system that provides a PCI variant and has a minimum mechanical life of 500,000 cycles. The smart card connectors are RoHS compliant, feature high-temperature thermoplastics and are compatible with pick-and-place equipment and lead-free SMT reflow soldering processes.
