Dontech's Therma Klear Flex series of transparent heaters are suitable for use in outdoor, military or avionic applications. The transparent heaters provide the necessary warmth to extend the operating temperature of LCDs in cold environments. They are also suitable for anti-fog, anti-icing, and de-icing of optics, sensors and display assemblies. The heaters are used in avionics displays, vehicle displays, mobile computers, kiosks, and handheld devices. They can be supplied with an optical grade pressure sensitive adhesive for optical coupling purposes.
The heaters are constructed by using the company's VCF Series of visually transparent conductive coatings. The single or multiple-layer coatings have a resistance from 5 to 200Ω/sq. The heaters measure 0.007" in thickness, and can be integrated into many mechanical footprints. The company claims that its lead wire attachment method is durable for custom mechanical and electrical configurations, as well as for EMI attenuation.
