The latest series of dual gate logic devices from Diodes reduces component footprints in small handheld products, such as tablet computers, smart phones, and e-readers. The 74LVC2G logic devices measure 1mm2 and have a maximum off-board height of 0.4mm. The company has initially launched six dual gate logic devices that consist of inverters and buffers in a choice of Schmitt trigger input and open drain types. The dual gate logic devices are offered in SOT26, SOT353, and DFN1410 packages. They have an operating voltage range from 1.65 to 5.5V, and support portable battery-operated and 5V product design. The devices draw less than 1µA, making them suitable for energy-sensitive applications. When powered down, the dual gate logic's output circuitry is disabled to prevent damaging backflow current and to ensure effective signal isolation.
