Lanner Electronics has launched a low power network processing platform based around the quad-core Freescale P2040 and P2041 processors. The MR-630 platform is available with 12Gbit LAN ports and includes two GbE management ports, two USB 2.0 ports and one RJ-45 console port. It features a 2Mbyte NOR flash memory and expansion opportunities through Mini-PCIe and PC.
The platform is available in three different versions. The first version uses the P2040 CPU with 1GHz of processing power, and also features 1200MHz DDR3 memory. The second version has a 12 PoE port switch that meets the 802.1af standard, enabling the switch to deliver up to 15.4W of power for each port. The third version uses the P2041 CPU with 1.5GHz processing power and features 1333MHz DDR3 memory. This version also has an additional module which would either add 4GbE SFP (small form-factor pluggable) ports or dual 10GbE SFP+ ports.
