ROHM has developed the BD65491FV and BD65492MUV motor drivers that are suitable for use in a range of digital camera lens drive and home appliance motor drive applications. The company claims that the motor drivers combine a double-diffused metal-oxide semiconductor process with a circuit technology to lessen power consumption. The BD65491FV motor driver consumes a power of 0.80 to 1.30mA whereas the BD65492MUV consumes a power of 0.95 to 1.30mA.
The motor drivers deliver a high-speed drive with low-voltage drive performance down to 1.8 V, without requiring a charge pump. These features enable the drivers to deliver short turn-on and turn-off times. The BD65491FV and the BD65492MUV motor drivers have a turn-on time of 150 and 200ns, respectively.
The motor drivers can be used to power mobile devices and home appliances needing power supplies of more than 10V. They operate from 1.8 to 16V and are also useful for small application systems. The BD65491FV and the BD65492MUV motor drivers are housed in 6.4x5x1.15 and 4x4x1mm packages, respectively.
