Verotec has revamped its family of IEEE1101.10 and IEEE1101.11 compliant sub-rack front panels with an improved design of injector and ejector latching handle that generates good insertion and extraction force. The company claims that the front panels have a good stainless steel EMC fingered gasket that improves contact with the adjacent panel. The KM6-RF extruded U section panels are available in heights of 3 and 6U and widths of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12HP. The handles have a pre-location pin and an electrostatic discharge protection pin; a live extraction micro switch and additional screw fixings. The panels are suitable for use in systems such as cPCI and VME64x that conform with the IEEE1101.10 specification and the handle operating mechanism is compatible with the long first-make and last-break pins. A two-stage operating mechanism, which latches the panels into the engaged position, ensures engagement of the PCB into the backplane connector. The panels are available with a vertically brushed iridite finish or with a RAL7035 polyester overlay to the front face. They have in-house customisation capabilities such as silk screen printing and drilling and milling holes, cut-outs, slots and recesses to accept switches, connectors, displays and indicators.
