Vishay Intertechnology has released a series of tantalum-cased wet tantalum capacitors that feature glass-to-tantalum hermetic seals. For avionics and aerospace applications, the T16 electrolytic capacitors offer good reverse voltage and high vibration capability. The capacitors deliver good performance with a reverse voltage of 1.5V at 85°C. They also deliver good vibration, thermal shock, and mechanical shock capabilities. The capacitors have capacitances from 150 to 680µF in the D case code, and capacitance tolerances of ±20% at 120Hz. They are optimised for timing, filtering, energy hold-up, and pulse power applications in power supplies and space and avionics equipment. The capacitors also provide an electron spin resonance of 0.70Ω at 120Hz and feature RoHS-compliant tin and lead terminations.
