Molex has expanded its HSAutoLink Interconnect System with the HSAutoLink high-speed in-vehicle data bus assemblies. Meeting the industry's need for EMI and EMC performance, the connector fits space-constrained vehicle packaging while maintaining a high-speed link to meet emerging demands in the connected vehicle segment, which includes vehicle-to-vehicle communications, infotainment, telematic devices and safety cameras. It blends proprietary shielding and volume assembly manufacturing processes for connectors and cables configured to deliver USB 2.0, low voltage differential signaling, Ethernet and other in-vehicle network technologies, says the company. The economical five-pin shielded connector from the consumer market has been ruggedised to meet mechanical requirements. The angled exits or short profile, right angle exit allow the assembled cable to exit the device at various angles, providing alternative routing options in confined areas. The right angle version features a compact connector footprint. The cables and connectors comply with the automotive industry-standard USCAR-30 compliant interface. Full-length cable shielding reduces EMI. The USB Standard A receptacles can be accessed by passengers to connect to media devices such as MP3 players, flash drives and portable navigation systems.
