Aaeon has introduced a 3.5inch SubCompact board with an Intel Atom Z5x0P processor and the US15WP controller hub chipset. The GENE-U15B SBC can accept a 200pin DDR2 small outline, dual inline, memory module with a capacity of 2Gbyte for system memory tasks. The SBC's operating system usage and storage space can be saved by using the single serial advanced technology attachment 3Gbit/s connector and an onboard silicon storage technology solid-state drive with a maximum of 4Gbyte. For expansion purposes, the board incorporates a mini card slot and one linear predictive coding bus connector. The board incorporates six USB ports, four COM ports, an 8bit digital input and output connector, one line-in, line-out, and mic-in audio connector, an onboard Gigabit Ethernet and one keyboard and mouse port. The default power requirement of the board is +12V DC. The board also includes a PS/2 keyboard and mouse cable with additional interface cables for USB, audio and serial ports available as optional accessories. The optional accessories include cables that can be used to interface the onboard 2pin power connector to standard 4pin power connectors of a PC power supply.
