An 8A step-down µModule regulator from Linear Technology is certified by TUV Rheinland to meet EN55022 Class B electromagnetic interference emission limits at up to 96W. The LTM4613 regulator accepts an input voltage from 5 to 36V and delivers a regulated output voltage from 3.3 to 15V.

The regulator features an integrated pi-filter, in addition to a shielded inductor and a controlled power transistor drive. According to the company, the regulator eliminates the need for external filters, magnetic shields and ferrite beads for a trouble-free design process. Also encapsulated within the surface mount plastic package are the step-down controller, power transistors, inductor, compensation, input filter and a modest amount of input and output capacitance. The regulator also has a clock input pin that synchronises one or more regulators. It also includes an externally adjustable soft-start, output voltage margining and switching frequency. The LTM4613 is housed in a 15x15x4.3mm land grid array package.
