The latest Mobile PC from the BVM Group is a 10.4inch tablet PC that is optimised for use in the medical environment. The ICEFire tablet PC features dual 1880mAh Li-ion hot swap battery packs and is powered by the Windows 7 Professional Embedded OS. The operating system has the Intel ICH8M chipset on a 1.8GHz Intel Atom D525 dual core processor with up to 4Gbit of 1333MHz SDRAM and up to 128Gbit solid-state drive mass storage. The PC retrieves patient data at the bedside and captures and stores patient symptoms in an emergency situation. The tablet PC supports 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless LAN, and features an Ethernet LAN port. The PC features a 3.75G modem that is suitable for WAN connectivity for remote working. Data input is via an inbuilt 1 and 2D barcode scanner, and a RFID reader. The PC incorporates Windows 7 digitiser support, WACOM digitiser and resistive touch input with auto-sensing and auto-switching functions. The PC also has a camera that enables the unit to capture images or data for local storage or onwards transmission to a remote server. The tablet PC is available with a multi-function wall mounting, desktop, swing arm or VESA mounting docking station.
