Renesas Electronics and Renesas Mobile have introduced the SH7734 microcontroller with graphics and network functionality for automotive, industrial and consumer applications. The SH7734 microcontroller features an Open VG-compliant graphics accelerator and a Gigabit Ethernet controller. It features built-in Open VG 1.1 2D graphics display functions and allows animation-like displays to be implemented with minimal amounts of memory. The microcontroller also includes a built-in Ethernet controller with a data rate of 1Gbit/s. It can also enable visual effects such as animated display as well as enlargement, rotation, deformation, and colour gradation in figures and text. The microcontroller's Ethernet controller and the Gigabit media independent interface comply with the IEEE 802.3 standard. The Ethernet interface supports data rates of 10 and 100Mbit/s and can also be connected to 1Gbit/s Ethernet LANs. The microcontroller also incorporates a direct memory access controller to reduce CPU overhead and enable large-capacity data transfers. It uses an SH-4A CPU core operating at 533MHz and performs audio processing, display control operations, and signal processing required for human machine interfaces. The microcontroller includes a memory controller that supports DDR2 and DDR3 SDRAM.
