A single side, liquid media option in a TruStability pressure sensor from Honeywell allows engineers to use one port with condensing humidity or non-corrosive liquid media, such as de-ionised water. The sensor, therefore, does not have to be protected and can be used where there are condensing humidity conditions or where liquid media is measured. The two versions, the HSC (High Accuracy Silicon Ceramic) and the SSC (Standard Accuracy Silicon Ceramic). The HSC series provides ±1% total error band specification, compensated across a 0 to +50°C range. The SSC series provides a ±2% total error band specification, compensated across a wider temperature range of -20 to +85°C. Both versions have the option of analogue or digital outputs. Digital ASIC output in either I2C or SPI protocols from digital sensors accelerates performance through reduced conversion requirements, claims the company and also provides direct interface to microprocessors or microcontrollers. There are pressure type options, mounting options (lead through, Sip, DIP and SM) and pressure from one to 150ps. As well as in airflow monitors or kidney dialysis machines, the sensors can be used in industrial applications such as barometry, flow calibrators, gas chromatography, gas flow instrumentation, HVAC, life sciences and pneumatic controls.
