Connector module supports Ethernet transfer rates in rail applications

Harting has introduced a Gigabit connector module that offers a maximum Ethernet performance of 10Gbit/s. The connector meets Cat 5, Cat 6 and Cat 7 requirements, and is optimised for use in rail applications. It is designed for use with stranded wire and cable diameters ranging from 5 to 12mm. The module contains eight accessible crimp contacts for American Wire Gauge 28-20 wire and every data pair has separate shielding.

 

The connector module is suitable for applications requiring demanding mechanical needs such as connections between rail vehicles. It supplements the 30 existing modules for handling electrical, optical and pneumatic signals.
