AAEON has introduced a COM Express module that is based on the Intel AtomTM N455 processor and Intel ICH8M chipset. According to the company, the NanoCOM-LN COM Express module combines low power operation and performance and is available in a package size of 84mm x 55mm.
The module offers both LVDS and analogue video output in simultaneous and dual display modes. It utilises the shared memory technology to make available 384Mbyte of system memory for the graphics engine. It has an onboard DDR3 667 memory that eradicates the need to add a memory module and provides a cost-effective and rugged solution. The onboard solid-state disk simplifies and reduces the system design by eliminating the need to add storage media to the system. For applications requiring higher storage capabilities, the module offers three channels of serial advanced technology attachment 3.0Gbit/s. Additional expansion requirements are met by the four 32bit PCI channels and five PCI Express channels. The module is suitable for healthcare, defense and government, security, industrial automation, gaming and entertainment, test and measurement, retail and advertising, and digital signage applications.
