Crydom has introduced the LifePlus ED series of AC and DC output pluggable solid state relays that allow electromechanical relay users to replace the 12x29mm electronic medical records with solid-state relay technology. The company claims that the relays offer a life expectancy of over 100 million operations. The relays also provide contactless high speed switching and eradicate contact bounce and electrical noise. Available in a single pole, single throw normal open configuration, the relays offer output ratings of 3- or 5A RMS at 24 to 280V AC. The relays also provide 5A DC at one to 48 or one to 80V DC at a temperature of 40°C. AC outputs incorporate the company's back-to-back selective catalytic reduction technology while DC outputs use high efficiency FETs. The relays are suitable for applications such as small motors, solenoids, heaters and lamps. They also have optically isolated control inputs from 3 to 15, 18 to 32, 48 to 72V DC, 18 to 36, and 90 to 140V AC. The relays are UL 508 recognised for both general purpose and motor control applications. They are compliant to IEC 62314 LC-A resistive and LC-B inductive application requirements. The relays are also CE certified to the IEC low voltage directive and compliant to the IEC EMC directive. They are available in a 12x29mm plug-in relay package and fit PCB mountable sockets.
