Murata Power Solutions has introduced the 2700 and 2700T series of surface mount power inductors for an array of consumer electronic devices. The inductors have been designed for applications where a low component height is crucial such as in handheld equipment and notebook computers. The 2700 series inductors measure 9x7.7x1.65mm and offer inductance values from 4.7 to 1000µH. They have a device-dependent maximum DC current of up to 1.6A and DC resistance values from 0.1 to 14Ω. The 2700T series of inductors provide inductance values from 1 to 330µH. The inductors have a maximum operating current of 2A. The DC resistance of the inductors is 80mΩ for the 1µH part and increases up to 15Ω for the 330µH part. The inductors operate from -40 to +125°C and have a peak reflow solder temperature of 260°C.
