Diodes has released a family of small-signal bipolar transistors in DFN packages for load- and signal-switching applications in smartphones and portable applications. The NPN and PNP transistors measure 1x0.6mm and are suitable for use in electronic products such as cameras, portable multimedia players, Bluetooth headsets and tablet PCs. They are available in a DFN1006 package, which has a 0.6mm2 footprint and an off-board height of 0.4mm. The company claims that the transistors deliver good thermal performance and operate in high switching speed applications for maximum frequencies of 250MHz. The transistors offer 15 to 50V capability and can handle a peak current of up to 1A. This makes the transistors suitable for handling load-switching applications. The transistors also deliver an on-resistance of less than 300mΩ at 0.5A.
