An pair of economical plungers has been added to the 2271 illuminated keypad components available from Mentor Compoents. The patented, illuminated plungers are designed for use in short stroke pushbuttons and can be used where there is no requirement for full-face key illumination. There are two versions available, one with up to four illuminated points when combined with chip LEDs, and the other is for dedicated keypad applications without illumination. The plungers can be combined with pushbuttons from the company's 1254 series as well as those from other manufacturers. The modular plungers can also be freely combined with the familiar pushbutton caps for full face or point illumination as well as the signal indicators from the company's keypad component series. plungers are 15x15 and 19x19mm and 12.5 and 9.7mm high.
