To fulfill the growing demands of high wattage and high power density for rack system applications, MeanWell has doubled the power density of its earlier RCP-1000 series to introduce the RCP-2000 series (2000W single unit). It has also introduced the 1U rack chassis RKP-1U. Three levels of output voltage can be selected: 12V at 100A, 24V at 80A, or 48V at 42A of front-end power source. One to three hot-swappable units can be contained in the industrial standard 19inch rack, to provide up to 6000W. it is also possible for three rack systems to be connected in parallel to provide a total of 18,000W output. The supplies are high-density - 21.4W/ in3. The ability to withstand 300V AC input surge for 5s can reduce the damage caused by the unstable AC main. The supplies are designed with advanced digital control technology that using microprocessor as the core of power management, for flexibility in power control and monitoring. The company claims that reliability is also increased, due to less components. Featuring active PFC and 92% efficiency, the supplies operate between -40 to +70°C ambient temperature. Power-on at -40° is secure for 230V AC input or higher. Standard functions include remote sense, remote ON/OFF control, 5V or 0.3A and 12V or 0.8A auxiliary output, AC OK and DC OK signals, fan fail warning and OTP alarm signals.
