Skyworks Solutions has released high dynamic range power detectors that are suitable for smart phones and datacards. The RF detectors are compatible with baseband architectures and accommodate multiple 3G and LTE band combinations. They work with the company's SKY7770X and SKY7772X series of 3G and 4G power amplifiers to expand the compatibility of the integrated daisy chain coupler for the majority of basebands and transceivers. The company claims that the high dynamic range of the detectors enhance power control and improve the total radiated power performance. The SKY77002 detector is manufactured using the company's gallium arsenide heterojunction bipolar transistor process that offer temperature stability and ruggedness. The detector's circuit technology is optimally aligned for transceivers that require external detection for power control. It is housed in a QFN package and is compliant with RoHS requirements.
