The BAP 190 series of rugged DC/DC converters deliver a continuous output power of 250W from a conduction and convection-cooled package with a 132x64x300mm total footprint. The standard stock versions have two output terminals, namely a redundant terminal with a built-in redundancy diode, and a direct terminal that bypasses the redundancy diode. On the redundant output, the converters can be used for redundant parallel or N+1 operation. The direct output can be used for monitoring, precision regulation or to achieve high efficiency. The 125V DC input version is available with 24 or 48V DC standard outputs. A Form C output fail alarm is included in this design.
The calculated MTBF of the converters are more than 150,000h at 45oC. The converters also meet the EN61373 and IEC61373 shock and vibration standards. They feature additional ruggedising and conformal coating for operation in adverse environments. The converters also include inrush current limiting, reverse polarity protection and rectangular, continuous current limiting with short-circuit protection. They offer thermal protection through a built in thermostat with self-resetting function.
