TDK-EPC has introduced the MLP2012V series of multilayer power inductors to reduce power dissipation in portable devices such as smartphones, mobile phones and digital cameras. The low-loss ferrite material used can reduce the core losses. The company says that, when the inductors are used as the power inductors in power supply circuits, they increase the power conversion by up to 6% efficiency compared to the existing MLP2012S series. In addition, the DC super-position characteristics of the component are enhanced, thus raising the rated current. The inductors are available with inductance values of 0.47 and 1µH and current capabilities of 900 and 1100mA. They are available in the compact 2012 case size and feature an insertion height of 1mm. The inductors are used in the power supply circuits of portable electronic devices, which are equipped with diverse functions. Their continuous use under high load, for example, when gaming or using the camera feature, can result in rapid battery drain. The inductors help to reduce the power consumption by enhancing the conversion efficiency of power supply circuits. The company also offers the 2520 size components to offer a selection of power inductors for portable devices.
