Displays in the EA Dog family by Electronic Assembly simplify power supply and reduce its costs but not needing a negative auxillary voltage for 3.3V systems. The high contrast, LCD, super-twist display modules for industrial and commercial need just 3.3 or 5V to operate and can be ordered separately to allow a variety of designs with different sizes and colours. Customers can choose from three display units and six LED background illumination schemes, including one that covers the entire RGB colour spectrum. Three display units are offered for viewing one, two, or three rows of data, with different font sizes also available. In total, there are 63 customisation options. Two separate LED paths are available for the unicolour illumination schemes and can be connected in series or parallel. Keeping the illumination and display concept separate also enables flat layouts. Without the illumination unit, the display is only 2mm thick. Even when the illumination unit is fitted, it has a 5.8mm build height, allowing it to be mounted framelessly by having it soldered directly to the circuit board. The display is compact at just 55x31mm. An ST 7036 display controller is included in the display units. For connectivity, 4- and 8bit, and SPIs are offered. The operating range is between -20 and +70°C.
