Texas Instruments has announced the Stellaris 2.4GHz CC2560 Bluetooth wireless kit, DK-EM2-2560B. The kit includes the CC2560 and the Bluetooth stack within StellarisWare software. According to the company, the integration of Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3 microcontrollers with the company's Bluetooth makes the kit suitable for streaming audio, remote control and data transfer in industrial and consumer applications. The company has also expanded its portfolio of microcontroller and wireless technology solutions, which includes 16 and 32bit microcontrollers backed by ZigBee, wireless, RFID, and Bluetooth hardware and software. The wireless kit is modular and can be combined with the Stellaris DK-LM3S9B96 development kit which includes hardware and software needed to start development. The software includes peripheral driver library and example source code. The Bluetopia Bluetooth stack includes the SPP (serial port profile), A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile) and AVRCP (audio video remote control profile) with sample applications. The kit's hardware includes PAN1323 Bluetooth v2.1 and EDR (enhanced data rate) module, TI eZ430 USB emulator with bluetooth target board and plastic cover, battery board, two AAA batteries, and earbud headphones.
