VPT has expanded its line of PoL DC/DC power converters with a 20A module. The DVPL0520S are non-isolated, synchronous, regulated buck converters that step down power at the point of use with up to 90% efficiency, claims the company. The PoL DC/DC regulated buck converters are suitable for military and avionics power systems. According to the company, the buck converters can be used alone or in conjunction with multiple power converters from a single isolated high power DC/DC converter, such as VPT's 50W DVHE series. The modules provides power output up to 66W, and the output voltage ranges from 0.8 to 3.4V. The converters also operate at 5V input and have an output inhibit control. The regulated buck converters are available in 1.075x1.075x0.270inches with a maximum weight of 16g. The buck converters have over- current and short circuit protection and it operates from -55 to +125°C. The converters have a fault tolerant design with magnetic feedback. Environmental screenings are available including MIL-PRF-38534. When the buck converters are used with the company's DC/DC converters and EMI filters, it meets the requirements of MIL-STD-461C and MIL-STD-461D EMC.
