Silicon Laboratories has announced the launch of SLIC (subscriber line interface circuit) for VoIP (voice-over-IP) gateways. The Si3226x Dual ProSLIC family is suitable for low-channel-count VoIP customer premises equipment such as FTTH (fibre to the home) gateways, DSL integrated access devices and high-channel-count products including multiple dwelling unit gateways and PBX systems. The circuits contain an integrated level shifter and driver, which is claimed to allow for a direct connection to a DC/DC converter's power transistor. The on-chip intelligent DC/DC converters can be configured as either single-output tracking DC/DC converters for each SLIC channel or a single multi-rail DC/DC converter shared by two or more channels. The Si32260/1 standard pulse code modulation are available in 8x8mm 60pin QFN packages. The Si32266/7/8/9 circuits are available in 6x8mm 50pin QFN packages.
