Murata Power Solutions has introduced the OKI-T/3-W32 series of surface mount PoL DC/DC converters. The converters are suitable for 12 or 24V DC industrial applications and can provide an input voltage from 9 to 32V DC. The converters are compatible with the DOSA (distributed-power open standards alliance) package specifications and measure 11.9x20.8x8.5mm or 0.47x0.82x0.34inches. The non-isolated converters offer a 3A programmable output voltage that can be set from 0.75 to 4.5V DC. Power output at 4.5Vout is 13.5W. A remote on/off input, using either a positive or negative source, allows the output to be controlled or sequenced in the case of an end-product using multiple input voltage sources, claims the company. The modules also provide under-voltage lock out, output short circuit, over-current, and over-temperature protection. The converters can drive ceramic capacitive loads of up to 1000µF, and are claimed to keep the ripple and noise to a minimum. The converters operate from -40 to +85°C . They require input and output capacitors and one resistor to program the output voltage. The company claims that the module resolves layout, control loop stability and noise issues.
