Claimed to be the world's first foot-controlled digital interface, the SoftStep Keyworz is available from Keith McMillen Instruments. Available for Mac and Windows, it can be used by gamers, video editors, programmers, data entry professionals, disabled people and repetitive stress syndrome sufferers. It is pressure and location sensitive and USB-powered with 10 customisable keys that remember up to 100 sets of commands for repetitive tasks. The cursor and click control allows the user to keep their hands comfortably on the keyboard at all times and the blue backlight makes it visible everywhere, even under a darkened desk. The elastomeric and graphite composites create a rugged yet lightweight design, says the company: the interface is portable, weighing just one pound and can fit into a briefcase or backpack.
