Microchip has announced its standalone six-channel AFE (analogue front-end) for three-phase power monitoring and metering. The MCP3903 AFE includes six 16 and 24bit delta-sigma ADCs with a  signal-to-noise and distortion of 89dB and THD (total harmonic distortion) of -99dB. Additional integrated features of the AFE include programmable gain amplifiers, a low-drift voltage reference and phase-delay compensation. The AFE is suitable for the utility and industrial markets, such as in utility meters, power-monitoring equipment and instrumentation. It is available in a 28pin SSOP.
